The Greatest Of All Is “Love”

1 04 2011

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer! Dear friends may the Love of God be in our hearts today and forever. “God is Love and Love is God.” Friends today we shall see exactly what is love? Do we have this thing that we call “love” in our heart? What exactly does the word of God speaks about Love?

Dear friends, when we say that we have love in our hearts do we really have that love? Do we really love our brothers and sisters in Christ, our family and those who are of a different race and religion! Friends, it is very easy to say that we love our family and friends. But hold on! Do we really mean what we say? Let us get down to the word of God and see what does the word of God speaks about Love! How does God define Love as! You will be surprise my friends!

Dear friends, the word of God here says “Love is patient”, “Love is kind”, “Love does not envy”, “Love does not boast”, “Love is not proud”, “Love is not rude”, “Love is not self-seeking”, “Love is not easily angered”, “Love keeps no record of wrongs”, “Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth”, “Love always protects”, “Love always Trusts”, “Love always hopes” and “Love always perseveres!” Wow! what a long list of definition of Love! Yes, my friends! When we say we love someone, does our Love carry all that definition of Love? There are fourteen of them! That is how the word of God defines love as! It is written in 1 Corinthians 13 verse 4-7. Are all that fourteen inside us my friends? I am asking myself that question! Friends, when I started writing I myself am being convicted by my own writings! And it is indeed good to be convicted by the word of God because as it is written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All Scripture is God-breathed, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work!”

Dear friends, how many of us are patient with others around us? When people irritate you do you keep quiet or do you retaliate back? How many of us are kind to people around us? Have we been kind with our attitude, words and deeds towards others? Have we envied anyone lately? Have we been boastful over ourselves and look down on others who are less fortunate? Have we been proud because of what we have or who we are in the society? Have we been rude to others by our words and our body language? Have we been self-seeking lately? Its all about ourselves and no one else is better than us? Have we been easily angered by people who love to gossip about us and those who have bad-mouth us? Do not get easily angered my friends, because they are agents of the evil one sent to irritate us during this season of Lent! Have we kept any record of wrongs that people have done to us? No, my friends it is not worth it at all! Just forgive those who have hurt us and God will forgive us.You and I my friends will see the peace of God in us! Have we delighted in any evil deeds that was done by people to others around us? No, friends we are to rejoice in the truth always!

Friends when we say we love others, have we ever protected those innocent ones when we know that they are not in the wrong and have been falsely accused? Have we ever trusted our own family and friends no matter what others say about them? Is there still hope for those who wants to be reconcile back to the family? We can’t always accuse people, give them a chance to change! Friends, remember that none of us are without sin and that we are perfect in all we do! Have we  persevere when people say all kinds of things against us that is not true and it hurts us so deeply? It is really not that easy when we say we love someone!

Friends in 1 Corinthians 13:13 it is written ” Faith, Hope and Love, But the greatest of these is “Love.” God demonstrated his Love by sending His only Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us! The bottom line is “LOVE” is “FORGIVENESS!” and that is it my friends! As we are in the Season of Lent, let us ask God to fill us with His Agape Love because “God is Love and Love is God!”

God Bless.
