“Where Is God’s Dwelling Place!”

2 04 2011

Greetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer! Dear friends, have we ever wondered where is God’s dwelling place? We see God as someone who is awesome, mighty and a supreme being! He is a Holy God! So where does God makes His dwelling? Is it in a place of worship? Let us find out my friends!Dear friends, when I was a little girl, I always thought that God was in heaven always and there is where God dwells! All of us would have thought the same thing right! We were all kids and that was what we thought? But friends, let me take you the book of 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 as it is written “Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is sacred, and you are that temple!” Friends, the Lord Almighty has chosen our temple and that is our heart to make His dwelling place! So friends, if we are going to be God’s Sanctuary then we ought to keep the temple or the sanctuary of God pure and holy because He is Holy! God is not talking about dwelling in a building made by man! Friends, God is choosing our temple as His dwelling place!

Friends, if God is a holy God than God needs a Holy dwelling? Why did he chose our heart to be His dwelling place? God is not knocking at the church building to come in but He is standing outside the door of our hearts to come in and dwell! As it is written in the Book of Revelation 3:20 ” Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him,and he with me!” Friends, do you know why God chose to dwell in our hearts? God knows very well that we are sinners and yet God wants to dwell in our hearts! God wants to have “fellowship” with us my friends!

Why do we go to church every Sunday my friends? It is because we want to hear the message for the day and also to have fellowship with our fellow believers! A place of worship is where believers meet and not where God lives! As it is written in Acts 17:24 “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands!”What happens to the rest of the six days my friends? Who are we going to have fellowship daily with? Friends that is why God says, He is standing at the door of our heart to have fellowship with Him! Are we going to let God come into our hearts or are we not going to let Him come in to have fellowship with us?

So my friends, if we have decided to let God come in and make His dwelling in our hearts then my friends we have to keep the temple of God pure, holy and clean! Remember out of the heart comes out all the evil things that we have within us.As it is written in Mark 7:21 “For from within, out of men’s hearts, comes evil thoughts, sexual immorality,, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly!” my friends. So friends, God has chosen our temple to be His dwelling place and He wants us to clean up the mess that is within us that is unseen to men but seen to God! That is the reason God chose to dwell in our hearts and not in buildings made by men! If the place of worship is full of dirt we can clean it up! But if our temple is filled with all kinds of unclean things who is going to clean it up? It is You and I my friends who are to keep our temple clean fit for the dwelling of God Almighty. We did not chose God to come and dwell within us but God chose our temple to come in and dwell.

Yes, my friends! Today let us take this opportunity to clean the temple of God, so that He can come and make His dwelling within us. “Lord, prepare us to be a living sanctuary, pure and holy just for You Lord!”  Friends, He is standing outside knocking at the door of your Heart. Would you let Him to come into your heart and dine with You? I have open the door of my heart, will you my friends do it Today? Have a Blessed Lent.

God Bless,

Jasmine.C
