“What Type Of Instruments Are We For God?”

3 04 2011

Greetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer! Dear friends let us take a look at the above topic! Have You and I ever wondered “What type of Instruments are we for God?” Are we instruments for noble purposes or ignoble purposes? Friends, let us see what the word of God has to say?Dear friends, let us take a look at our own homes! If you really look around there are many articles that we put on display at home! There are some that are expensive and there are some that are less expensive, right? We usually display the most expensive items out where people can see and admire and the less expensive ones may be in the dining or the kitchen, don’t we, friends? Friends let me take you to 2 Timothy 2:20 as it is written ” In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble.” Friends, before I take you to the next verse let us see what the word of God has to say before the instruments are being use for noble purposes ! In 2 Timothy 2:15 -16 it is written “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly!”

Yes, my friends! Before being choose to be an instrument for noble purposes as the word of God is written in 2 Timothy 2:21 ” If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” Friends here the word of God is telling us to avoid godless chatter if we want to be instrument use for noble purposes! Friends, there are many of us believers who are still going on with godless chatter despite being in the season of Lent! Some of them friends, would want you to join in together with them in this ungodly chat! They need company because they can’t do it on their own! They get disturbed and restless if you are not willing to join in their godless chatter! They still go on gossiping and bad mouthing others during this season of Lent! There is no godly chat on their lips! The word of God says to “stay away” from these kind of people because the more we get indulge in them the more and more ungodly we become! Remember friends, we are suppose to be instruments used for noble purposes!

Friends, if we want to be instruments to be displayed by God for noble purposes then we have to flee from all the evil desires as it is written in 2 Timothy 2:22 “Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Don’t have anything to do with “foolish” and “stupid arguments,” because you know they produce quarrels.” The word of God is true my friends! We must be wise enough to hold back our tongue because we know that if we go on having stupid arguments, as the word of God says, we become foolish people and we are not worth to be used as instruments for noble purposes!

Dear friends, instead of getting into a quarrel as the word of God says ” The servant of God must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him, he must gently instruct in hope that God will grant them “repentance” leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their “senses” and “escape” from the “trap of the devil,” who has taken them “captive” to do his will! Yes, my friends, it is clearly stated that it is the work of the evil one and the people who are caught in his trap are so ignorant! Friends, God wants to use all of us as his instrument for noble purposes and not ignoble! If we have all the evil desires within us, how is God going to use us for noble purposes? Friends, You and I have to decide and choose Today, what kind of “instrument” we want to be? Are we going to be use for noble or ignoble purposes? The choice is in your hands my friends! I want to be an instrument use for noble purposes but how about You? Have a Blessed Lent Season.

God Bless.
