“Are You A Child After God’s Heart?”

10 04 2011

Greetings I bring to you my dearly beloved friends in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer! Dear friends, as we meet again through my postings, I hope and pray that all of you my friends out there are in good health! As we look at the above article, it speaks about being a child after God’s heart! There is one particular person in the Bible who fell into sin and knew how to get back with God. Let us check it out friends!Dear friends, just let me ask you a question? How many of us out there can bravely say to others that we have not sinned at all? That you are not a sinner! Friends, I myself am not brave and bold enough to say that I have not sinned at all! If I am going to say that I have not sin then I make God to be a liar! Because the word of God says that “all” of us and mind you my friends not “some”of us but “all “of us had sinned against God! We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God! Be glad to confess that you are a sinner because God did not send His son Jesus Christ to be crucified for the so called “self righteous” people but to die for the sins of a sinner regardless of their race and religion! Jesus Christ was crucified for the sins of all mankind of this sinful world! So my dearly beloved friends, know that if you have sin it is not against yourself but you have  sinned against God and against God only have you sin! That is what King David said in his confession towards God my friends! Let us see how was King David’s  confession towards God until God could say that King David was a “child after His own heart!” Wow! To be called one after God’s heart even after  King David committed “adultery” with a woman? Friends, it is commanded in the Ten Commandments that “thou shall not commit adultery” and yet King David committed the act of adultery and still he was called a “child after God’s heart?”

Dear friends, let us see what moved the “heart of God” in King David’s confession when he fell into sin? It is written in Psalm 51:1-12: First, he asked God to have mercy on him according to God’s unfailing love. Secondly, he asked God to blot out his transgressions according to God’s great compassion. Thirdly he asked God to wash away all his iniquities and to cleanse him from his sin. In verse 3, King David acknowledges his transgressions by saying that he knows that his sin is always before him and it is against God that he had sin and done what was evil in God’s sight! So God is proved right when God speaks and justified when God judges. As it goes on in his confession he also admitted that he was sinful at birth , sinful from the time his mother conceived him. As we go on to verse 7: King David asked God to cleanse him with hyssop so that he will be clean and to wash him from his sins so that he will be whiter than snow. He continued to ask God to hide his face from his sins and to blot out all his iniquities! King David just knew how to confess to God!

Dear friends, the climax is here! This is what made God to tell that King David was a child after His heart! As we look at verse 10-11 it is written , create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. “Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me!” This was what caught the heart of God, my friends! To King David what was more important to him was God’s presence and God’s Holy Spirit! King David did not want to lose both of that! He knew how important it was to have God’s presence and God’s Holy Spirit! Yes, dear friends! He knew how to get back to God after he committed adultery.

Today, my friends, how many of us had sinned against God as how King David did? King David repented of his sins because he knew that he had not sinned against himself but before God! How many of us today  have fallen into sin and do not know how to get back to God? Friends, you don’t need to confess your sins to men but go into your room Today, close the door and go on your knees and confess your sins  to God as how King David did! How important today is God’s presence and His Holy Spirit towards you my friends? As you go before God in true repentance of your sins, the word of God says that “God will forgive you and will not count your sins against you and He will not remember your sins anymore!” Today is your day to get yourself right before God because tomorrow is not destined for you and I. The choice is in your hands, friends! Have a Blessed Lent Season.

God Bless.
