“Friends,Have You Given A False Testimony Against Your Neighbor?”

3 05 2011

Greetings I bring to you my dear friends in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer! Dear friends, as I bring to you to another article of mine today, let us ask ourselves if we had ever “Given a false witness against our neighbor today?” Are we guilty of giving a false testimony against our neighbor? Are there any laws that say that we can’t give false testimony against someone? Let us see what the word of God has to say about this?

Dear friends, how many of us out there in fact through our ignorance had given a false testimony and had been a false witness in accusing our neighbor? Are there any laws that say that we can’t give false testimony against our neighbor? Yes, there is indeed. Let me take you to the book of the Old Testament that is the book of Deuteronomy 5:20 as it is written, “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.” Friends, it is a commandment that is found in the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses. It is the ninth commandment of God! At times we are so quick with our mouth that we just do not stop and think before giving a false testimony or even being a false witness against someone who is in fact innocent.

Dear friends, as believers, let us think back and see if we had ever bear false witness against our neighbor? Was it right of us in the sight of God to bring such accusation against someone when we really did not see it with our own very eyes? Be it if you are a Hindu, Muslim or a Buddhist. It is wrong in the sight of God to bring such false testimony against your fellowmen. Some people are bought with money to give and bear false testimony against someone they do not even know. Is that right in the eyes of God? What if the false testimony that was brought against someone was wrong? Do you know my friends, that by bearing a false witness against someone you could put his or her  life in danger, humiliation and even bring shame to there families just because of your false testimony? Do you feel right and justified in what you have done, friends?

Friends, who are we to judge others when we have not really seen what really happened with our own very eyes! In today’s world we see, that many people have fallen to be agents of Satan. We see it in the Political arena, in the family, among your colleagues and also among your friends. In the political arena, we see politicians abusing their power to bring false accusation against their fellow politicians all because of “Power.” Power to rule according to their human nature and not against how God wants these politicians to rule according to His will. We see it in the families too. Spouses too, like to bring accusations and bear false witness against one another and they end up in divorce cases leaving the children to be hurt. It happens everywhere my friends.

Dear friends, if Today, we can all stop and pause for a while before we speak, accuse, slander and bring false testimony against others, let us ask God to forgive us if in any case in the past we had bear false testimony against our neighbor. Our neighbor can be anyone, right from the politicians, the man on the street, your working colleagues or even your own friends whom unintentionally you have bore false witness against them. It is time to ask God to forgive us because we had in fact gone against the ninth commandment of God. By the way, what do we all get from all these? Is it worth it? “If” we could all love one another, the world will be a better place to live in. Let us make a change, friends! Have a Blessed Day.

God Bless.
