“Thou Shall Not Kill”

12 05 2011

Greetings I bring to you my friends in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer! Dear friends, as I take you to another article of mine for the day, just have a look at the above topic entitled “Thou Shall Not Kill.” Friends it is the 6th Commandment found in the Ten Commandments written by God to Moses. Friends, read on to see why did God gave this commandment to us.

Dear friends, looking at the commandment above and why did God give this commandment “Thou Shall Not Kill.”  It is because our hearts have become so evil and full of hatred and anger that we are able to kill one another. One good example is found in the book of the Old Testament the book of Genesis 4:8 as it is written “Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.” The ever first killing that took place in the beginning mankind. Why did Cain kill Abel? Let us take a look at Genesis 4:4-5, as it is written ” The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face downcast.” Friends, let us take a look why did God did not accepted Cain’s offering but accepted Abel’s offering instead?

Friends, as we see, Abel was a shepherd and Cain was a farmer. Cain brought “some” of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord but Abel brought “fat portions” from some of the “firstborn” of his flock. Cain’s offering was not looked with favor because his heart was not right before God. This evidence could be seen in Genesis 4:6-7 as it is written “Then the Lord said to Cain, Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right sin is crouching at your door;it desires to have you, but you must master it.” But on Abel’s offering God was pleased because Abel came before God with a contrite heart. Abel gave God the best of his product but Cain gave some of the produce and did not give the best of the produce.

Friends, whatever offering we are giving God today, give him the best that you have and with a right atitude. Did not God give us the best of what he had that is offering up His only Son Jesus Christ to be an offering for us? Yes, my friends that is what some of us do, don’t we. God sees our heart very clearly. Nothing is hidden from God’s eyes. Friends, in this world many children are being killed. Some are abused and killed. Some are killed so that their organs could be sold to others who are willing to pay a high price for that organ. Some are raped, molested, sodomized and kill. Some children are just killed in the war-torn countries. See how evil the hearts of humans have turned to be? There is no fear of God at all in these people who are only fit to be called “beast.”

Dear friends, there are also babies who are still alive and they are being killed without any mercy. Have you heard about the “Silent Cry?” Yes, my friends, these are the babies that are being killed everyday around the globe without any mercy. Thousands of babies are being killed through ABORTIONS! Many young girls who have got pregnant out of wedlock just opt to abortion. There are some mothers too who abort their babies. Do they know that their babies are being killed through solutions and through the instruments that have been used to kill the babies? What have these babies done to deserve that kind of a death? It is because of their own lustful desire and pleasure that they need for a moment, thousands of babies are being killed in the hands of these merciless doctors who carries out this abortion cases. God knew that all these things would take place, that is why God gave the commandment “THOU SHALL NOT KILL.”

Dear friends, as believers have we done these things? As believers what are we doing to stop these abortion cases from taking place? What are we doing exactly as BELIEVERS? We have to put an end to all these things, my friends. Please do take time to ponder on all these things. It is time that we obey the commandments of God. Have a Blessed Day.

God Bless.
