“Time Alone With God, Is Time Well Spent”

21 05 2011

Greetings I bring to you my dear friends in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer! Dear friends, as we take a look at today’s topic entitled “Time alone with God, Is time well spent.” It is indeed true my dear friends. Let us see what the word of God tells us about spending time with God.

Dear friends, as we take a good look at the title above how many of us as believers have truly spent quality time with God. We are living in a world where we are all so busy with our daily work. But do you know friends, that we as Christians should spent quiet moments with God. We tend to spend our leisure time on something that is not fruitful at all. By spending quiet moments with God, we will see ourselves transforming into better Christians. You may ask me friends, how much time do I need to spend with God? Friends, can you spare 10-15 minutes for God. God is ever willing waiting for you to spend quiet moments with Him. That is why God created man in the first place, right? To have a personal relationship with Him. Many of us Christians have a busy life style, that we cannot afford to spend 10 – 15 minutes a day for God.

Dear friends, quiet time is one of the most essential aspects of your Christian life. Many Christians take some time reading the bible everyday. While it is very useful, just reading the bible will not lead you to much fuller Christian walk with Christ. You need to spend time in his words, study and learn from it everyday. Without daily regular quiet time, our spiritual life can be seriously malnourished just as our body can be mal-nutritioned without proper food and water! I often wonder when people talk about forgetting to do their quiet time due to busy schedule; I have never found anybody who forgot to eat for a day due to work!

Friends, you may ask, when is the best time you can have fellowship with God. It varies with certain people. You can choose time according to you schedule. For some, morning works better, for others, night may work well. While, I recommend the morning time as you are much calmer and fresh, any time can work fine. It is also important to set fixed time everyday, as it brings discipline and consistency. Remember friends, we have to be discipline when it comes to God’s matters. Don’t we punch our cards when we go into our work place? It is the same with God.

Friends, if you have not started your quiet moments with God because of your busy shedule, do get started. It is such a wonderful experience my friends. How would you know who God is if you do not have fellowship with Him? Remember friends, Satan is ever waiting to draw you away from God. At times Satan makes you to be so busy with the worldly things that you would not have time for Godly matters. Friends the best way to have quite times with God is to start with a small prayer. Prayer is talking to God. Talk to God and He hears you even though your words are so silent. Spend just a few minutes in worshiping and thanksgiving. Spend some time asking God to forgive your sins. Ask God for godly guidance in your daily walk. Friends, take a passage from the bible and read. Ask God to open up your spiritual eyes to see the Truth in the bible. Friends, God’s word will definitely speak to you. You will be able to understand God’s character more. His will in your life.

Dear friends, by spending time with God you will not lose anything. You will have the peace within you. Friends, we as believers must discipline ourselves to spend quite moments with God. You will not ever regret it, Take it from me. I would rather spend my time talking to God and being in His presence. Remember friends, Time alone with God is Time well Spent. Have a Blessed Day.

God Bless.
