“Take A Break For Rest And Prayer” Before You Breakdown!

20 07 2011

Greetings I bring to you my friends in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer. Dear friends, looking at the above topic for today, how many of us as believers out there have really Taken a break for Rest and Prayer? Friends, you may ask me if it is  necessary to take a break for Rest and Prayer. Please do read on the rest of the article to get the answer and also do stay blessed always, my friends.

Dearly beloved friends, as we take a look at the above topic once more again, it is indeed really compulsory to take a break for rest and prayer. The reason is nowadays we see so many people just dying off like that. Some die as early as 50 from a heart attack, diabetes, high blood pressure and many other illness. The reason is we overworked our body system. Some of us are just workaholic. We can work and work and not giving our body to rest. We want to work so hard to meet all the family’s commitment! That is good and shows that you are a responsible person but do not overwork our body system. It also needs to rest. When we overwork our body system, that is when we get into a lot of trouble without even knowing it. You may look healthy but the next day some of us are just rushed to the hospitals and some even do not make it there. Our body system collapse! Who is to be blame if it is not us?

Dear friends, even Our Lord Jesus Christ took his disciples  away from the crowd to go to the other side of the village. Do you know why the Lord did it? He wanted his disciples to take a break and a rest and also to have their own prayer time. Friends, when was the last time you took a proper break for rest and prayer? Many of us would think that going to church every Sunday is sufficient enough to make up for the six days of our spiritual growth. No, my friends! It does not work that way. One Sunday does not ever make up for the remaining six days. We will indeed be spiritually and physically weak. We are to take a rest, it may be an hour or two to spend time with God if you have the time. Even 15 minutes of your time with God is good enough my friends. But make sure that the 15 minutes is a real quality time you really want to spend with God. Daily have your personal fellowship with God. It will give you a peace of mind from your daily burdens.

Dear friends, some of us as believers have become workaholics. We tend to spend more time at other things that do not ever give us a break to rest and to have time with God. Worldly affairs have taken the importance in our relationship with God. Remember friends, worldly affairs only bring stress and sicknesses unto us but not so when we give time for God. There is peace and rest. This is what we all need as believers. In the gospel of St Matthew it is written, “Why Worry.” The word of God says that we cannot add an extra hour by worrying. So learn to relax and rest. Enjoy the peace that God is granting us from above not as the peace of the world. cast all your burdens upon the Lord, for God is ever willing to carry our burden and gives us rest. It is written in the gospel of St Matthew, “Come to me, you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” It is indeed an invitation to those who are so hooked up with their daily workload and burdens that they have to carry daily. Again my friends, the CHOICE is still in your hands to choose. Have a Blessed day and stay blessed always.

God Bless.
