“Lord, Do Not Take Thy Holy Spirit Away From Me”

26 07 2011

Greetings I bring to you my dear friends in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Our Redeemer. Dear friends, looking at the above topic entitled, “Lord, Do Not Take Thy Holy Spirit Away From Me,” is indeed a call that all Christian believers should have and bear in mind. Friends, today there are many of us as believers have in fact quench the Holy Spirit of God that is within us. Please do read on my friends the rest of the article and be blessed.

Dearly beloved friends, as we go into today’s posting it speaks about we as believers had quench the Holy Spirit of God. Friends, we may not know that we had indeed quench the Holy Spirit by our thoughts, action and deeds. We have become so ignorant about it that we had become less sensitive in knowing that we had in fact quench the Holy Spirit. In our daily walk of life, without being aware in some way or another we had quench the Holy Spirit. Friends, we have all been bought by a price, not with silver or gold but by the precious blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. It is not only now that people are quenching the Holy Spirit that is within us but it happened to the famous King David when he committed adultery with Bathsheba. King David was known to be a child after the heart of God. But what made him to quench the Holy Spirit? He was the chosen King of Israel and was anointed by the prophet Samuel. Yet, in his weaknesses because of a woman he defiled himself and sinned against God. That is what King David said as it was written in Psalm 51:4 “Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you are proved right when you speak and justified when you judge,” and it continues in Psalm 51:11 “Do not cast me from thy presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.”

Dear friends, to King David, when he sinned, he admitted and confessed his sins saying that he did not sinned against himself but that he sinned against God. In the book of 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, as it is written, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” That is why King David when he committed adultery with Bathsheba, he was convicted of his sins by the Holy Spirit that was within him and he pleaded to God not to take the Holy Spirit away from him. Today friends, how many of us are like King David? We have sinned against our body but are we repentant enough to come before God and ask him not to take His Holy Spirit away from us? Are we being convicted by the Holy Spirit itself that we have sinned against God?What is our response to it? Are we like King David to tell God not to take His Holy Spirit from us?

Dearly beloved friends, let us not take the presence of the Holy Spirit that is within us so lightly. We are to treasure the presence of the Holy Spirit within us and not to quench it. Let us safeguard what has been given to us by God the Father. Friends we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We all have our own weaknesses but let that not be a hindrance to to the presence of God and the Holy Spirit that is within us. Remember that our temple is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. Do be blessed and Stay blessed always.

God Bless.
