“Are We Really Children After God’s Heart?”

10 12 2011

Greetings I bring to you my beloved friends in the name of Our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ. As we are in the season of Advent,  many of us as believers are making so many preparations for Christmas. Looking at the above topic, let us take this time of the Advent season to really see and search deep within us whether “Are We Really Children After God’s Heart?” Do take time to read the rest of the article and be blessed always.

Dearly beloved friends, as we all know we are all in the Season of Advent. There are so many things that we have in our mind to do. Some of us have prepared a long list of things to do and also a long list to buy gifts for our loved ones, don’t we? We work so hard to save up the extra cash. Let us see first what is Christmas all about friends? Let us go back to the year 2000 when our Redeemer and Deliverer was born into this world. That is why we are celebrating Christmas till today, right? We are in fact celebrating the birth of the Messiah that is no other than Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our Lord’s birth was a very special birth. The birth of the Messiah was already predicted in the Old testament by the prophet Isaiah. The Old Testament was the ‘Shadow” of things that will take place in the New Testament.

Dearly beloved friends, let us take a close look why the birth of the Messiah was so special? We will also be able to see the very heart of God for His people. Why do we need to be Children after God’s heart? If we are God’s children then we are to be like Our Heavenly Father in heaven. We are to bring His sweet smelling aroma unto others. We are to bring His Light into this world to people who are walking in total darkness. Our Lord Jesus was born in a stable. There was no room or inn where the blessed virgin Mary could deliver the King of kings and the Lord of Lords. Our Deliverer, Our Redeemer and our Savior was born in a stable. The very Gift of God was at a stable and was not in a palace! You want to know why my dear friends? If Our Lord Jesus was to be born in a royal palace, only the royals and the nobles are allowed to visit our Savior. The poor will not be allowed or permitted to enter the palace. That is why God wanted the birth of His Son to be at the stable, where the poor and the rich will be able to gather to see our Lord Jesus Christ. He came mainly for the poor, the destitute and the outcast. That was the very heart of God. He gave us the “Emmanuel” meaning “God with us.” So my friends, that was the Greatest gift of all God gave to each and every one of us. That was the very Heart of God. To be among the poor. God knew that the poor, the outcast and the destitute are the ones that needed the Savior the most.

Dearly beloved friends, as Children of God, are we really children after God’s Heart for this Advent season and also in our daily lives? As I have mentioned earlier, many of us are preparing to do so many things this Christmas. We want to have grand dinners and parties and barbecues for those who can afford. We tend to spend our money going to the clubs and spending money on drinks and clothes and shoes. We have already put up the expenses for everything that we want to do this Christmas. It is all about ourselves and families. Friends, have we ever pause and stop to think about those who are less fortunate than us? There are orphans who are praying and hoping that people will come and spend time with them. Throw a Christmas party at the orphanage or invite them over to your home. There are also those who are homeless, friends. There are people without clothes and shoes. There are some needy families that are in need. Have we ever took the time to think about them my friends? These are the little things that we can do. God does not need us to do great things but small things. We move God’s heart by doing little things. God is not asking you to feed a multitude but at least one family is good enough friends!

Dearly beloved friends, the greatest gift of all was Jesus Christ himself. When we turn our eyes and fix our eyes on Our Lord Jesus then we will really know the true meaning of Christmas and all that is in it. Let this Season of Advent that you and I are going to celebrate be a different one this year. The Season of Christmas is a Time of Giving and Sharing. Let us be a Blessing unto others who really needs us. Stay Blessed and Be Blessed Always.

God Bless.
